Conference Proceeding: ‘Vehigadeta’: Retelling the Story of the Exodus from Egypt in Digitized Kibbutz Haggadot

In 2008, the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library at the University of Toronto purchased from Arnold Druck the largest collection of Kibbutz Haggadot in the world. In June 2016, the author of this paper has begun to digitize the collection in order to secure its preservation and to enhance its discoverability. This paper aims to discuss the process of building a digital collection of enduring value in both English and Hebrew; the challenges encountered during the digitization of the Druck collection, and the best practices developed to make the collection available to research by scholarly and public communities from across the world.
