The reunion of Joseph and his brothers in Egypt is seen through the eyes of Benjamin, the youngest brother. En route to Egypt, where the governor has ordered him to be brought, Benjamin learns of his brothers' wickedness when they abandoned Joseph in the wilderness. At the governor's palace, he is bewildered by the attention he gets but only after he is accused of stealing a silver goblet and brought back to Joseph does he realize who the governor really is. Natascia Ugliano, who also illustrated two of Jules's other Bible stories, captures the action and mood of the story with evocative color illustrations that stand out from those in most of this publisher's picture books. An excellent format also contributes to this excellent and unusual re-telling of a biblical story.
