Note:
In this coming of age tale, a sequel to How to Ruin a Summer Vacation, we again encounter sixteen-year old Amy, back from Israel, at home in Chicago and trying to keep her life together as multiple events swirl around her. They include finding a girlfriend for her father, learning to accept the fact that her mother is re-married and pregnant, and reconciling her feelings for two boys: one a neighbor and the other Avi, the Israeli soldier from the first novel, who pays her a surprise visit in Chicago. Amy is a well-defined and personable central character who does not always think things through but speaks in a fresh voice. The reader likes her and sympathizes with her struggles at a very confusing time of her life. The story moves swiftly and there is Jewish content galore.
