Jewish Values: Adventures of Yaakov and Isaac, The
Number of Pages:
Joe Kubert is well known to readers of comic books. He was one of the first authors to expand to a longer form of cartoons, now known as graphic novels. This collection of stories features two Orthodox boys who face many tough situations, such as encountering bullies making fun of their yarmulkes and rescuing a child trapped in a car. They also explore some famous moments in Jewish history including the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and the Six Day War. Following each story is a review of the Torah lessons the story taught and a set of questions. The illustrations are similar to mainstream comics: with bold colors and large, action filled panels. For elementary and middle school boys, especially those who are reluctant readers.
