Note:
A beautifully illustrated, gently written story about a little girl and the special affinity she has for her very old great-grandmother. Although Oma speaks in a language that Celeste cannot understand, in their weekly visits Celeste imagines what it is that Oma is telling her about her past. Told subtly and illustrated in framed, color pictures, generations are bridged as Celeste and Oma create their own form of loving communication. Although there is no explicit Jewish content, the story conveys to adults, if not children, that the characters are Jewish.
