Another in the confusing plethora of titles on the subject published by the Thomson/Gale conglomerate, this is a compilation of historic speeches representing Israeli and Arab points of view from 1946-2002. The introduction sets the context but contains a major error, stating that the U.N. Partition plan was "not a plan to create two homelands..." when, indeed, it was. The speeches are divided into sections pertaining to the establishment of the State of Israel, the Six Day War and its aftermath, steps toward peace, the first Intifada and Oslo, and the second Intifada. There are brief biographes of each speechmaker, a chronology through October 2003, a bibliography of adult books, and an index. Part of the Great Speeches in History Series and useful primarily in schools.
