Conference Proceeding: Who is using the Jewish digital library

The Jewish National and University Library, through its David and Fela
Shapell Family Digitization Project has digitized and made openly available via the
Internet hundreds of thousands of pages of books, newspapers, maps and manuscripts as
well as selected sound recordings. The technology of providing information via the
Internet includes logging every file sent with the address to which it was dispatched.
Analysis of this mass of information can provide interesting insights as to what is being
used, by whom and at what times. This paper will present results of analysis of 5 years of
usage data of the JNUL’s digital library projects and conclusions regarding future
development initiatives.
